Allergy Symptoms

Symptoms attributable to allergy can be quite surprising.

Allergies are the result of your body’s attempt to fight off what it perceives, mostly incorrectly, as a harmful, invasive substance. When it detects the invader, your body produces allergic antibodies called Immunoglobulin E, or IgE, to fight it, releasing histamines and other irritants in the process. Those irritants then bring about myriad potential symptoms. The array of possible symptoms is surprisingly large, and while many of them are commonly associated with allergies, like sneezing or itchiness, many others are not, like bloating, fatigue, and dark circles under the eyes. Patients chronically experiencing any of them without satisfactory explanation can be good candidates for allergy testing.
